SIAD obtains the ISO 14001 Certification for the Environmental Management System of its Production Plant in Osio Sopra, near Bergamo.

Last February, SIAD obtained the ISO 14001 Certification for the Environmental Management System of its production plant in Osio Sopra, near Bergamo.
Since 1989, SIAD has been involved in Assogastecnici Gas Safety Committee and in 1995 agrees to the Responsible Care program by Federchimica.
The certification process started in September 2001 with the environmental analysis and the writing of all the documents related to the system; this analysis was completed in June 2002 and then, in July, SIAD edited the Official Environmental Policy Document and the Environmental Management System Handbook.
Meanwhile, in Osio Sopra some critical areas underwent a sound-proofing intervention and, in March 2003, an advanced plant for lowering the emissions of volatile organic substances was started up. In February 2004, a new hydrogen production plant that also recovers carbon dioxide was started up too; this allowed a reduction not only in the gaseous emissions but also in the electricity consumption.
After the training of all the employees of the production plant, in February 2004 SIAD obtained the certification by CERTIQUALITY.
The environmental certification is not a final step but a further stage in SIAD's constant commitment for the environment; this is a significant achievement, that enhances even more SIAD undertaking in combining market goals with social and environmental topics.
